About

Why this archive exists, and what we stand for.

The Original Library

The Orgasm Sound Library (orgasmsoundlibrary.com) was created and maintained by Bijoux Indiscrets, a Barcelona-based brand committed to female pleasure and sexual wellness. For eight years they built a unique collection of authentic human sounds, contributed by real people and shared freely with the world.

In their own words, when closing the library:

"At Bijoux Indiscrets we maintain our commitment to female pleasure and after 8 years of The Orgasm Library, we have decided that it is time to close this cycle and start new challenges. The Orgasm Library is permanently closed. There will not be another URL, nor will its content be accessible again. We would like to thank all of you who have participated by donating your audios and sharing the project."

You can follow their new projects and subscribe to their newsletter at bijouxindiscrets.com.

Why this archive exists

When Bijoux Indiscrets released the recordings under CC0 1.0, they made a deliberate and generous choice: to dedicate these sounds to the public domain, permanently and irrevocably. CC0 means no copyright, no attribution required, no conditions — the recordings belong to everyone.

When the library closed, those files disappeared from the web. But the CC0 dedication doesn't expire with a website. We recovered 3,352 recordings through the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine and built this archive to honour that original commitment — keeping them permanently accessible to anyone, for any purpose.

Continuing the CC0 practice

CC0 1.0 Universal

Bijoux Indiscrets chose CC0 because they believed these sounds should be free — for researchers, artists, educators, musicians, and anyone else. We share that belief. Every recording here carries the same CC0 1.0 dedication: copy, modify, distribute, use commercially, no permission needed, no attribution required.

New submissions to this archive are also released under CC0, continuing the practice the original library established — and extending it. Where Bijoux Indiscrets collected sounds over eight years, this archive keeps that door open: anyone can contribute, and every accepted recording becomes part of the permanent public domain collection.

Sex-positive and research-friendly

Human sexuality is part of human experience. These sounds capture authentic moments of pleasure — they serve legitimate educational, research, and artistic purposes. We believe this archive is useful to music producers, researchers studying acoustic properties of human vocalizations, educators, and anyone who simply wants to listen.
